About Burgalicious

Has anyone noticed how bad food has gotten lately?

In 2025 I got fed up with how going out to eat just wasn’t a great experience anymore. Smaller portions that didn’t taste very good, complete with a higher price tag and lackluster customer service. Adding to everything else, my health was trash. I had been on blood pressure medication for a few years at this point, and chronic pain in my knees forced me to stop taking dance classes. I gained more than 30 lbs over a two year period. My cardio conditioning was non-existent, and after a painful flight back from hiking in Utah I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both of my knees.

I decided that I was going to fix my health and start growing my own food - something more than the occasional herbs on my kitchen countertop as I had done in the past. I had some pretty lofty goals that first summer and while many of them failed, I managed to grow enough for me and a little to share as well. I documented some of that journey on YouTube, where Burgalicious was born.

Gardening is changing how I eat and how I cook. More of my meals are based on the seasons, and I’m finding ways to sneak veggies into just about everything. I’ve gotten a little snooty about what my food is made with and where it comes from. And I’m much more in tune to my health and how diet plays into things like my mood and stress levels. I’m on a path of undoing years of neglect to my body and I know it won’t happen overnight, yet slowly but surely my health is improving. I want that for you too.

Burgalicious started as a personal journey of growing my own food, and it’s expanded to sharing my fresh vegetables, gardening knowledge, and home cooked meals with family and friends. My hope is to inspire the world to be a healthier place, one backyard at a time.
